About Us
Two people, one shared drive
Ruud and Kobus did not meet in a boardroom. They met at Omera, Ruud’s specialist hi-fi store, surrounded by loudspeakers, amplifiers and music.
For Ruud, hi-fi has been part of everyday life for sixteen years. Through Omera, he has helped countless people discover what good sound can do. His background in sales and process management also means that he is always looking beyond the equipment itself. What does someone really need? How can things be made simpler, better and more enjoyable?
Kobus has been fascinated by loudspeakers for as long as he can remember. Not just by the way they sound, but by everything behind them: the drivers, the cabinets, the materials and the endless decisions that shape the final result. Over the years, he had several loudspeakers custom-built, each one feeding his curiosity and teaching him more about what he was really looking for.
His background in graphic design, consultancy, insurance and entrepreneurship gave him another perspective. A loudspeaker should not only sound right. It should also look right, feel right and fit naturally into the way people live.
When Ruud and Kobus started talking, they quickly discovered that they shared the same frustration. Too many loudspeakers force you to choose between sound, design, flexibility and practicality.
So they decided to create something different.
A compact monitor that feels complete on its own. A design that does not dominate the room. And a modular system that can evolve from a two-way loudspeaker into a true three-way system when the listener is ready for the next step.
That idea became Lyssna Acoustics: shaped by experience, curiosity and a genuine love of music.
European values
The name Lyssna was both a starting point and an inspiration for audiophiles, designers and craftsmen from The Netherlands and the Czech Republic. United by a shared love for Scandinavian design and high-fidelity sound, they combined Dutch creativity with Czech technical expertise to bring their vision to life. Now, that dream has a name: Lyssna Acoustics.
Lyssna Acoustics presents a range of speakers that reflect the highest European values; premium, minimalist, sustainable. The design is subtle, understated and organic in the best Scandinavian tradition.
